Have you heard of Design Sprints? No? Then better Have you heard of Design Sprints? No? Then better keep reading ⬇️💡 A Design Sprint is a framework from the Design Thinking Methodology. With Design Thinking we want to create solutions for complex questions. A Design Sprint usually takes 5 days:1️⃣ MapFirst you need to map out your problem and collect all possible information. Now you had a full day of understanding and chose a target for the sprint. Don’t forget to include a decider, so that you can actually decide at the end of the week. 2️⃣ SketchOn the second day, you focus on possible solutions. Be creative and think in all possible directions. At the same time you recruit users for Friday.3️⃣ DecideAfter sketching several ideas today everyone will present their solution and vote/combine the best solution.4️⃣ PrototypeNow you create simple prototypes from your scaled-down idea. Fake it, so that it seems real, but it doesn’t need to be.5️⃣ TestIt’s testing time! Show your prototype to your customers and analyze the outcomes. You know what works after this week and how to proceed from here.#productmanagement #prodmgmt #productmanager #womenintech #uxresearch #startuptips #productowner #scrummaster #userresearch #agilecoach #businesstips #strategy #okrs #digitalproducts #womeninproduct #startupideas #onlinebusiness #smallbusinesstips #productdiscovery #productdelivery #productschool #uxtips #startupworld #learnstartup #productideas #testingbusinessideas #designthinking #designsprint
Don’t use these 5 vanity metrics to measure prod Don’t use these 5 vanity metrics to measure product success 👇📄 Number of page viewsThis metric seems nice, but it doesn’t tell you anything without context. It could even have a negative impact as people don’t find what they are looking for and therefore keep clicking through your product.👩‍💻 Number of unique visitorsAgain a metric which let’s you feel good, but what is going on with these unique visitors? Are they coming back? What do they do on your page? Be more specific with what you really want to know.👍 Number of followers & likesMy favorite metric when it comes to vanity metrics! It’s makes you feel like you are popular. But it’s not helping at all. Especially if you want to earn money with your product.⏰ Time on siteA similar one to page views. It could even mean that people don’t understand your page or that your page is loading slow. Again: The context matters! If it’s Netflix/YouTube this is probably a good sign.📮 Number of email listNot the number is interesting, but instead the opening rate or the clicks on your CTAs. Are people even reading your emails? It’s easy to have ghost followers, but not to have an engaged community!Which other vanity metrics do you know? Which metrics are you using to measure product success? Do you want to validate your product idea? Let me Do you want to validate your product idea? Let me show you, how you can do it ⤵️ 🚪 Fake Door TestWith a Fake Door Test, your user will think that a feature already exists. But in reality you just create a CTA or button to check how many people click on it. This way you can check for demand and prioritize if the feature is worth it.🛍 Pre-OrderLet people pre-order a product that does not exist yet. If enough people sign up, you can build the product. And if not, they will get their money back. 🖥 Landing PageSimilar to a pre-order, but still a little bit different. Create a landing page for a product that does not exists yet, but instead of buying the product people can show interest by signing up on a wait list.👯 Audience BuildingAnother way to test demand: Build an audience for your niche before building your product. If enough people care about your content, they will for sure care enough about your product.🧙‍♀️ Wizard of OzWhile your user will think that they interact with the final product, in reality a real person is behind it. It’s perfect to test things that seem automated like a chat bot, but behind the scenes it’s manual.Have you validated your product ideas? Which methods have you used? Let me know! ☺️#productmanagement #prodmgmt #productmanager #womenintech #uxresearch #startuptips #productowner #scrummaster #userresearch #agilecoach #businesstips #strategy #okrs #digitalproducts #womeninproduct #startupideas #onlinebusiness #smallbusinesstips #productdiscovery #productdelivery #productschool #uxtips #startupworld #learnstartup #productideas #testingbusinessideas
Do you struggle to prioritize your backlog or dail Do you struggle to prioritize your backlog or daily tasks? Then maybe you are not aligned with your higher goals! Let me show you how it all connects ⬇⭐ Always start at the top and define a vision & mission, so that all your daily actions are aligned with higher goals. You can use your company vision & mission, but if you have a product vision & mission, even better.🛣 Next define a product strategy based on your vision & mission. If your company has a company strategy you should align with it. A strategy should be designed for approx. 2 years.🚀 Based on your strategy you are able to define quartely OKRs. While Objectives describe the qualitative goal, Key Results describe the quantitative goals. With the set OKRs you are able to derive Initiatives, that will help you to reach your OKRs.📆 With your Initiatives you are now able to plan what you want to do in the next couple of weeks. And now it’s just a small step to you daily tasks, since your next weeks are clearly defined.💡 So the next time you are struggling with prioritizing your backlog or align ideas between stakeholders, check back with your OKRs, strategy, mission and vision to see how it all aligns.#productmanagement #prodmgmt #productmanager #womenintech #uxresearch #startuptips #productowner #scrummaster #userresearch #agilecoach #businesstips #strategy #okrs #digitalproducts #womeninproduct #startupideas #onlinebusiness #smallbusinesstips #productdiscovery #productdelivery #productschool #uxtips #startupworld #learnstartup #measurewhatmatters
Why did I start @productheart? 🧐 I started @pr Why did I start @productheart? 🧐I started @productheart because I wanted to share the learnings I would’ve needed the most, when I was transitioning into product management. I was overwhelmed with all the information out there: Hundreds of long blogposts, thick books and lengthy videos. How should I learn all this in a short time? 🤯That’s why I decided to go the other way: Creating short, crisp content, so that you can give yourself an overview of the most needed information 💡 Becoming 1% better everyday.I basically found a problem (which I thought was worth solving) and tried to use Instagram as a possible solution. Getting all your feedback I think the problem is worth solving, but what do you think: What alternative solutions would work even better? 🙈🧐Thank you for this amazing journey and all your support so far 💐 I am looking forward to the next year, new opportunities and a lot more @productheart content ☺️In case you have any wishes for upcoming content, let me know 🤗#productmanagment #productdiscovery #productmanager #productmanagerproblems #productmindset #productpeople #userresearch #startup #startupgermany #startupbusiness #productdelivery #womenintech #womeninproduct #productcon #productschool #productcoach #productmgmt #productstrategy #businesswoman #productinnovation
Have you ever asked yourself why not all product i Have you ever asked yourself why not all product ideas work? There can be several reasons, let's explore them ⬇️Missing Problem-Solution Fit 🤔It can happen (more often than you think), that you are not solving the right problem. People don't care about it and therefore your idea will not work out. At this stage you first need to tackle the right problem, before you get into building a product.Missing Product-Market Fit 🛍If you found a problem worth pursuing, you can start to look for the right solution. This solution will be your product. Now you have made sure that the problem is worth solving, so make sure, that you create a great solution.Missing Business Model Fit 💼You have a problem worth solving, a great solution for this problem and still your idea can fail. If your business model doesn't work out (e.g. you can't scale, technology is not there or legal problems arise), the best problem and solution won't help.Make sure, that you know how to scale and grow your solution after you have found it.Do you know other reasons, why product ideas can fail? Do you want to talk to customers? Then you better Do you want to talk to customers? Then you better avoid these common mistakes when interviewing customers 👇❓Suggestive QuestionsAsk open-ended questions instead of questions like “Would you buy this product?”. People should tell you a story so that you can derive actions from it, instead of telling you if they would buy your product.🔮 Future BehaviourAnother reason why you should not ask if people would buy your product: You can’t predict future behaviour. Instead ask for past experiences and how they treated a situation in the past.💬 Talking too muchInterviewing your customers is not a pitch! You don’t want to convince possible customers from your product. Instead be quiet most of the time and listen to what your customers are saying.Try to avoid these mistakes and your interviews will be way better! 🎉Which other mistakes should we avoid when interviewing customers?
